Technically, yes. They are charged at a premium rate compared to normal
landline numbers. However the majority are aware of this, which isn't the
case with 070 numbers which are charged at a premium compared with normal
mobile numbers, let alone landlines.

On O2 you can drop the 0. On T-mobile I think you prefix the number
with 6 (or you used to be able to in the One2One days) not sure about
the other networks though.

Oh. Bloody great. Might I ask what right BT has of delaying my
legitimate callers to my 070 number ? It's bad enough hearing the
"0800 are not free" when calling from a mobile.

Perhaps not everybody is happy with paying the exorbitant rates to your
070 number.

O2 simply refused to connect you to 0800 numbers unless you dropped
the leading 0.

Unfortunately, Tesco (who use O2) have this 'feature' too- very
annoying!
