As more and more people turn to voip, BT and VM seem to think that the way to survive is to put up prices, to those who still use their services, rather than try to compete. --- Remove 'no_spam_' from email address. I agree so called competition between BT and VM does not exist, BT puts its prices up and VM follows with exactly the same charges, apart from the 7p connection fee (compared to 6p at BT) and the fact that VM charge w/e daytime International calls the same as weekday daytime unlike BT, there is not much to separate them. They both moved to per minute pricing about the same time as well, the appearance is of collusion. |

Yup, they also both now round up to the next minute. So a daytime mobile call is, I now believe, a minimum charge of 18.5p p BT and 22p on VM. For BT it does not apply to their One hour plans. |

A 6p connection charge and a minimum of 1 minute charge (as there is rounding up to next minute). Thus for 1 minute of daytime call it is 9.5p/min. I reckon that anyone who is savvy won't be using BT, for peak time 'pay per minute' calls, so BT are making the most of those who are not. --- Remove 'no_spam_' from email address. At least when BT abolished the weekend rate they reduced their daytime rate a touch. VM as normal have not done so. I don't think most VM customers realise how much more they are paying for their calls than they could get elsewhere. |

Seems to me that 7p for connection is far greater than the real cost could ever be. |

I do not think there is they can charge what they like if a customer doesn't like what they charge they can give up the service . |
