Anyone using 18185 at the mo?
We use 18185 but at the moment (tried to make a call at 19.40) when I dial
out I'm getting a recorded message saying that the number I've dialled is an incorrect number and to contact my service provider. I can make the call by prefixing with 1280 to get back on BTs network and bypass 18185 so I reckon that that proves it must be 18185 at fault. Anyone else having problems? John (01772 area) |

Seems to be working here....they do appear to have regional issues from time to time. > > I can make the call by prefixing with 1280 to get back on BTs network and > bypass 18185 so I reckon that that proves it must be 18185 at fault. Because I use an Orchid V4 Dialler on the DECT base station that inserts the 18185 prefix for me instead of having to dial it every time so I need to override it (actually, the Orchid is programmed for different carriers at different times of day depending on which route is cheapest). I do know, however that it's not the Orchid going faulty because we have a corded phone just plugged straight into a socket upstairs and when I manually dial the 18185 from that, I still get the recorded message. Re: Anyone using 18185 at the mo?
I'm ALWAYS having problems with 18185, these include:
1. Number not Available 2. Engaged Tones 3. Dropped Lines 4. Recorded announcements of cost played to Either/Both Parties (Whilst in call) 5. Jumping into other peoples calls. 6. Just hearing either both or one side of a strangers conversation (Has this happened to me I ask?) 7. Hearing other people (Instead of the person I called), when the other person I called can hear me (Strange one this) 8. Person I called cant hear me. 9. I cant hear person I called. 10. Bill sent dated 22-10-07 telling me they are taking the money on 04-10-07 I am also being charged for all the above calls. It's not that it happens infrequently, it's happening almost every day. To be honest I have been meaning to cancel, as the cost to me now is more that Vonage would cost me. The only reason I have stayed is that I have friends and family using the account too. But I WILL be cancelling next week. Just not good value any more. Even BT's Evening and weekend option only works out at under £1.50 a month at the moment (12 months free, on 18 month contract) So it's either the above (BT) or Vonage (With a WiFi Phone) Mike |

Works fine here in East Kent, and has done for the last couple of years. Probably two or three failed calls in that time. -- Bob Eager begin 123 a new life...take up Extreme Ironing! |

And from here in Preston. As I was the OP I can say that this is the first time I've had any problems in the two years I've been with them and I'm glad to say that it was fixed the following day. I last had a problem (with the calls - the billing website is rather more hit & miss ). I'mnot a heavy user, maybe 4-5 calls a week. I'm in Exeter. |
