so called Mori Poll

if Mori are making random calls, why have they rung me 3 times in 4
days? I have missed them twice, by not being at home. When they say
they are making working for a Poll I don't believe a word of it.
The fact is that due to BT's incompetence ( they released our landline
phone number to Talk Talk without our permission, and without an
apology ! ! ) I then had to wait to have a new phone no. allocated,
hence BT have probably sold the new telephone no's. list with my new
no. on it, so as I again wait to be added to the Tele. Pref. Service,
through no fault of my own, I start getting cold callers again. I
don't believe this is from Mori, anybody on this group saying it is
from Mori is probably in on the scam for whatever they are actually
selling.

Mori do phone round and as they are not selling anything TPS does not apply.

OTOH many telesales calls start off pretending be doing market research
about windows etc. before switching to a sales pitch.

Mori should display their number on CLI and / or give you a number to call
to confirm who they are.

TPS doesn't apply to the likes of Mori who are just doing surveys, TPS is
only to stop sales calls.

It is possible you know for someone to just randomly pick any number and
dial, I could randomly dial digits and could easily get someone's phone
number.

But surely the nuisance is being interrupted by a ringing phone and having
to answer it - no matter who the caller is[1]. It's just as much effort to put
the receiver down on a cold-caller as on a poll/researcher.
ISTM the mistake people make is to actually _talk_ to the cold-caller, when
all you have to do is <click>, which is much quicker and infinitely more
effective.

[1] we forgive the nuisance if it's someone we know, but until we find
out it is that someone, it's still a PITA.

Tell them that YouGov pay 50p for surveys like that and ask how much they pay.
