Unhappy with new phone
Just taken delivery of a BT Converse 1300 I have used the mains adaptor instead of batteries I have noticed that if I unplug the adaptor for a while then when I plug back in again I have lost all the settings inc my phone directory I thought these were protected in case of power cuts etc No mention is made of this in the instructions or if there is a backup battery Is there one and if so where is it Is it and is it recharged from the mains supply I need to know if I should return it Thanks -- |

I have used other much cheaper phones without batteries or a mains connection but which still do not lose their settings Besides which there is a good likehood that over time the batteries will run down and all it takes then is a power failure and everything is lost So I do not think it is obvious that batteries are required but if so so be it Thanks -- |

But further on it points to an icon on the display "Low battery indicator Flashes when the *back-up* battery is low" (my emphisis) as no other internal battery is mentioned presumably they are referring to the same 4xAA cells. Why don't you put some in and see if the memory holds up? -- Graham %Profound_observation% |
