Digital Recording on iPod Classic

Hi

I have an 80gb iPod Classic which i'd like to set up for digital recording.
I'm a newbie at this but want to be able to record CD quality sound for use
with images in iMovie to create short presentations. I'm aware of the Belkin
Tune Talk and the Xtrememac Micromemo but have been told that both of these
have issues with the Classic as they're designed to work with the iPod Video
(it has a quick memo button) although they will work with the Classic with a
few minor functionality issues.

Can anyone advise me what I should be looking at? Do the above work with the
Classic and if so which is best? Is there a device out there that I am
missing?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

You can try this: an 8 channel mixer by Alesis? I think there's a 2 and 4 track version as well?
Alesis :: iMultiMix 8 USB

As far as I know, it can record CD quality at 44.1 kHz & 48kHz
