How to Eject the CD Drive in DOS?

Here is a light weight tool to eject cd rom drives from DOS. It's a GPL Freeware.

EJ.COM 1.04

Just a small program to eject the CD-ROM tray. You may specify one or more drive letters on the command line. If no drive letters are specified, EJ
will look for the first CD-ROM drive. If the current drive is ejected, EJ
will automatically attempt to change the DOS current drive to some other
value to prevent errors.

This is an MS-DOS-based program, and intended only for CD-ROM drives. It attempts to communicate with the CD-ROM redirector MSCDEX. If the drive is not controlled by MSCDEX or a close emulation, a disk eject request is sent using the IOCTL interface instead. If not running under DOS (e.g. Windows NT/2000/XP), or if the specified drive is not a CD-ROM (say, a Zip or LS-120 drive), then the eject attempt may or may not succeed; only experimentation can tell whether it will work.

Dos will be removed totally after Vista launch as it will not support 16 bit application so programmers like Jave and others had to rely on XP Bt. nice find strider

This program is not regarding DOS crap

Many cabinets have a stupid flip or cover in front of the CD/DVD drive bays, hiding the eject button of the drives, This tool can be used easily to overcome that

Also DOS 16 bit programs execute in Vista. However full screen mode is not supported.
