Short cut for shutdown

Hello friends…
Do you have any short command for doing the laptop shut down? I think there should be a button for shut down.

Re: Short cut for shutdown

If you hold down Alt F4 and click on enter the computer will shutdown, not the easiest shortcut to use but it's quicker than having to use the start menu. You can get some keyboards that have a command built in.

Are these kinds of keyboards available in the market? I searched at various places but not found.

I can't find any on the market currently available but I know that my old keyboard had a shutdown key, but it only worked on Windows XP and not anything above. However this tutorial you can create a shutdown key with any keyboard key.

-tap WinKey
-tap the right arrow button
-hit enter

takes a second at most as you only need to press one key at a time.

I read the suggested link on making a keyboard shortcut and I noticed the suggested parameters differ for different versions of windows.

I want to know why, when you have the shortcut right there on the desktop, would you need the keyboard shortcut? Just click the freaking icon.

For anyone who needs help creating such an icon:

Open the Command Prompt and type "shutdown /?" (enter),
You will get the full list of optional parameters and a brief description of each,
If you are not sure what you are doing, get help or don't do it...
For test purposes substitute the reset or log off command,
once it works right put in the /s
