Disabling simple file sharing in Microsoft Windows XP
By default, Windows XP uses simple file sharing, this means sharing using a wizard and does not allow for hidden shares or proper permissioning. To remove this, perform the following:
* Open Explorer and click Tools and select Folder Options * Click View * Scroll to the bottom of the list of Advanced Settings and uncheck Use simple file sharing (Recommended) |
