Enabling fast user switching
Fast User Switching is a Windows XP function that allows multiple users to be logged onto the same machine at once. The current active session can be switched without having to log off existing users or even close down applications they have in use (though of course, only one user can use the console at once). This tweak enables this function.
To enable Fast User Switching: 1. Use a registry editing tool to navigate to the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon 2. Insert or change a value with the following details: Data Type: DWORD Value Name: AllowMultipleTSSessions Value: 1 3. Restart the computer for the changes to take effect. Please note: The standard Windows XP Welcome screen must be in use for this function to work correctly. See Changing the Windows XP Logon window for more details |
