Had a nasty little virus @ work... this software is great
Hey guys, just wanted to share,. I had this nasty little virus at work (a bagel derivative) and it was hiding. I managed to clean up the system of everything but this stubborn little bugger that was hiding and not being found by anti-virus scan. I came across this root kit elimination program called Backlight Rootkit.
What it does, is runs and shows you all the programs that are hidden and running, and gives you an opportunity to stop the running program and rename it. Since these hidden viruses are usually .exe's renaming them will essentially prevent them from running. The when you run an anitvirus program again, it will find it and zap it for you. The link Some detailed info from the company. What is F-Secure BlackLight F-Secure BlackLight Rootkit Elimination Technology detects objects that are hidden from users and security tools and offers the user an option to remove them.
