Lock ur private folder without using any software

How to lock Your private folder using any software... if want to do this follow this tricks:

First select Your folder which you want to lock. Suppose paint is my private folder and it stored into E:\ drive.
In the same drive ( eg. E:\) you need to create two bat file. Create a new text file there & Open it in note pad. Type in:

Quote:

ren paint paint.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}

Save it in as lock.bat
Again open another text file and type

Quote:

ren paint.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D} paint

Now save this as a unlock.bat .

Now you can see 2 batch files lock and unlock.Double click on Press lock.bat and the folder paint's icon will change to control panel and you cannot view its contents.

Double click on unlock.bat and you will get back your original folder.

Try it!!!

Note: Edited for Clarity.

Also if you want lock/unlock a sub folder, you need to create the bat files in the root folder and not in the root drive. ie. For locking C:\files\mysecret create the bat files in C:\files\.

This is a old trick and works with XP only.

Trick is old or new it's not so very essential rather it is important to know whether it helps other or not. One thing which is old 4 u this same tricks should be unknown to another never forget this things

Yeah this trick works for me, code is absolutely ok. I have tested it then it has been posted. First thing what is ur platform is it WinXP bcz this trick only applicable on this platform.

im using XP pro OS. i tried but all i can do is lock it. nth happens when i press unlock.bat

Strange man what happen with u,,ok
open run>> type regedit>> Expand HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT>> click on the CLSID
>> in the right side u can find diff values. Try with these values...most probably the value is diff that's why it is not work.

The first value posted work for me in both my systems ( Windows XP, SP2).
