Re: HP Printers in Linux
thanks everyone!
I hope the Auto Document Feeder on the scanner works too.. To scan to PDF then I would use XSane and than manually print each page scan to a PDF file.. be nice if I could combine all in to one PDF. |

We bought an HP 5610 all-in-one recently and it works great out of the box, xsane worked, printing, no problems. xsane can save as PDF and I just verified that Adobe Acrobat reads the PDF just fine. -- // This is my opinion. |

This is fantastic news, thank you. We ordered the C7280 All-in-one last night so I will post a report to this forum in the next few days on how it goes. In particular I am interested in using the Auto Document Feeder for scanning, without having to boot in to XP to use 'advanced' features such as that. I have no experience with scanning though. It would just be so handy to go through all our filing and scan and throw out what we don't need or back up what we do. |

Re: HP Printers in Linux
I just tried to set up my hp c7280 under Ubuntu 7.10. The printer was recognized, but it was installed with the c7100 series driver. X-Sane does not recognize the device at all! I have had no problem with an hp c6150 or psc1610, so I don't know what to do. I am very new with Linux. Any help would be appreciated!!

Re: HP Printers in Linux
I installed HPLIP 2.7.10 and got both the printer and scanner working. Now I also need to figure out how to scan multiple page documents to a single PDF.

Re: HP Printers in Linux
What drivers have you used installing the printer? You need to install
HPLIP using Synaptic. Your printer IS listed on HPLIP site as supported.
