wysiwyg web site creator
My boy turned 4 yesterday.
He was born with a ton of dificulties. When he was born I resolved to put up a website with photos as things went along. Both to keep family in remote parts of the country/world in the loop, and to support other families with the same kinds of problems. I did o.k. for the first two years or so. I had done all the html by hand learning it as I went. I made mistakes (and bad choices in colors/layouts etc.). I have decided that it is time to rework and catch up the site. We are traveling cross country in October for three weeks of intense physical therapy for him and it would be nice to publish updates and results as the happen. It is a big undertaking and I don't have an extraordinary amount of free time. What I would like to find is a good WYSIWYG page creator, and a program that helps in creating thumbnails and batch image resizing. I appreciate all suggestions. Ryan |

Totally unfamiliar with the workings of them. (I know, I know, get out more, but I think what keeps me unfamiliar with them is that I do "get out" more) What would the benefit of doing it in blog form be? Keep in mind that the main purpose of it is to post pictures of the boy. There is very little writing involved. Ryan |

I'd have to agree, a blog package seems the way to go Wordpress + picture plugin (there are several) would probably fit the bill rather nicely. Alternately, google's blogger might be workable, though I don't know how good their image support is. -- Ogre |

I'm not sure there's anything that practical available. I would do image resizing using the gimp and for wysiwyg use Kompozer. However, Why not use something like google's webpage creator? It's fairly straight forward from what I can gather, and free. -- Moog "Some mornings it just doesn't seem worth it to gnaw through the leather straps." |
