Errors trying to eject USB drive

Today I noticed strange errors when ejecting a USB drive in XFCE. When I
eject a drive by issueing 'eject <device>', I see the following errors:

First, this is the USB drive I try to eject in this example:
/dev/sdh1 on /media/ToughDrive type vfat (rw,nosuid,nodev,shortname=mixed,uid=1000,utf8,uma sk=077)

Here is the error:
user@localhost:~$ eject /media/ToughDrive
dm_task_set_name: Device /dev/mapper/sdc5 not found

But I've checked whether taht file exists (before ejecting):
user@localhost:~$ ls -l /dev/mapper/sdc5
brw-rw---- 1 root disk 254, 3 2007-08-28 17:41 /dev/mapper/sdc5

It occurs with USB Flash and USB hard disks...

When trying to eject the drives via Konqueror, no error message is shown
(but that can also mean that Konqueror suppresses the errors).

Does anybody have an idea how to fix this?

gr,
maxx
