Wine-doors & Steam

I installed Half Life 2 via Wine-doors, now when I go to run it it says
"Steam is already running, you may only run one copy of steam", then
aborts.

I had the same problem with wine, found out I could paste this command in
the terminal:

nice -n 19 wine Steam.exe

and it solved the problem. I have no idea why, or what it all means, but
it worked and I am on to the next problem (zero text or graphics in the
logon box)

You need to install the Tahoma font from Wine-doors.

If that's fails

locate the file system.reg found in /home/username/.wine/

you need to insert a new line into it. "Tahoma"="courier"

as in the following section.

[Software\\Microsoft\\Windows NT\\CurrentVersion\\FontSubstitutes]
1189546465
"Arial CE,238"="Arial,238"
"Arial CYR,204"="Arial,204"
"Arial Greek,161"="Arial,161"
"Arial TUR,162"="Arial,162"
"Courier New CE,238"="Courier New,238"
"Courier New CYR,204"="Courier New,204"
"Courier New Greek,161"="Courier New,161"
"Courier New TUR,162"="Courier New,162"
"Helv"="MS Sans Serif"
"Helvetica"="Arial"
"MS Shell Dlg"="Tahoma"
"MS Shell Dlg 2"="Tahoma"
"Tahoma"="courier"
"Times"="Times New Roman"
"Times New Roman CE,238"="Times New Roman,238"
"Times New Roman CYR,204"="Times New Roman,204"
"Times New Roman Greek,161"="Times New Roman,161"
"Times New Roman TUR,162"="Times New Roman,162"
"Tms Rmn"="Times New Roman"

Re: Wine-doors & Steam

OK with hl2 downloaded fully all I get is a blank screen after the
loading screen, when the menu should appear.
