lpr error mesage in version 2.3

Hi,
I am trying to set up the printservices on a Sparc 5 runing 2.3. When
trying to print from the cad package I get an error message:
" lpr:cannot create /var/spool/printers/w/.seq "
It seems the print daemon cannot create the spool control files. All
the files seem to be wwher they are spossed to be.

What about the file permissions? What user does the print daemon (lpd or
cupsd) run as?

Do you mean Solaris 2.3? (Burn that!)

I think the old Solaris SysV print system needs the spool directory
owned by user lp,
but during installation it is wrongly created with owner root.
So you must change it manually.
