mpeg converter
I'm trying to merge several .vob's from a dvd into one file.
i want to keep video and audio original with no loss or extra compression involved. basically i choose dvd mpeg2 .vob ps format as the output... i select all vob's then select merge.... i check only the merged output and deselct the indivudual .vobs... resolution 720x480, vid and audio highest, ac3 5.1 sound 192 bitrate. aspect auto, framerate 29.97 duration full or total time reported by converter output about a 6gb file as reported by converter when i hit convert it only takes 15 minutes and i end up with a 150mb file that is all screwed up...been trying to get this to work for a month...paid for full version 5.1 what am i doing wrong? vista 64bit ult. 2.66 quad core 4gb ram |

Re: mpeg converter
I have exactly the same problem - can't merge the VOB files. Would like to do so so that I can watch them on a PS3 over the LAN without having to go file by file.
Anyone out there from imtoo who can help? Using latest version of MPEG Encoder Ultimate. Pioneer DVR-212 (I rip the VOB files first using DVDShrink, although I bought Media Toolkit Ultimate, as that seems fastest) Vista32 Ultimate (fresh re-install - about 1 month old, boots ultra-quick and no problems at all) C2D E6600 4GB DDR2-800 640GB and 320GB (convert to same disk, target files tried desktop and other directories) 8800GTS 320 (not that this should matter) Kapersky Internet Security 2009 (not that this should matter) Do I need to keep the IFO files in the same directory or something? I'm rather disappointed as I also paid full price (for Media Toolkit Ultimate!) and I know that I could probably do essentially the same with free software, but with more steps. This is why I bought MTKU, to try and make things faster and simpler, but it doesn't seem to work! ![]() |

Re: mpeg converter
Sorry for keeping you waiting for so long time.
Don't change the video quality and audio quality, but change the video bit rate and auido bit rate.don't choose "vid and audio highest",and another change ac3 5.1 to ac3 2 track and try again. Good luck. |

Re: mpeg converter
Thanks, I'll try that. But that is disappointing as the whole point of buying the software is for me to re-code videos!!

Re: mpeg converter
"Sorry for keeping you waiting for so long time.
Don't change the video quality and audio quality, but change the video bit rate and auido bit rate.don't choose "vid and audio highest",and another change ac3 5.1 to ac3 2 track and try again." why would I want to downmix from 5.1 to 2 channel? Now, with the latest mpeg encoder version, the file starts and then the remaining time increases to infinity and the file hangs at %50 even tho all 4 cores are in use? anyway, i found a FREE program called VOBMerge which does what I want it to (a whole dvd worth of vobs) in about 15 seconds....why can't mpeg encoder do this? Seriously, has imtoo tested mpeg encoder to merge vobs? I've tried every combination and the program just goes into limbo, working but never finishing... i'm not trying to be mean here, but after paying $120 for a program to merge vob's and it won't, well, "good luck" is hardly what i call customer service.... |
