Fails to convert MKV subtitles!?

Anyone know if this can be done with any easy to use converter? I have a lot of anime to get onto a PSP for my daughter.

I've tried the imTOO video converter standard and MKV converter but no luck with any mkv anime file.

I've also tried Avi2Dvd without sucees. Only using 'MKV To AVI With Subtitle' did I see the titles but the video quality had gone.

Any help appreciated.
