Advanced Profile parameter descriptions

Hello,

Not long ago I have purchased the ImTOO MPEG Encoder standard. Where can I get a more in-depth description of the advanced profile parameters? Some of them are pretty esoteric and have no clue what they are and the little description at the bottom window is not very helpful.

Why?

I use AfterEffects to output raw (uncompressed) video files. I used to convert them to H264 using the full version of QuickTime. I recently purchased ImTOO, and I noticed that even if I select the same compression settings as I do in QT, I can't achieve similar compression. I always end up a somewhat worse quality and bigger file size using ImTOO as opposed to using QT.

Example.

A 30 second raw output from AfterEffects compressed to H264 in QT using the following settings (original file is 310M uncompressed):

- Compression: H.264
- Frame Rate: 29.97
- Key Frames Every: 60 frames
- Frame Reordering ON by default
- Best Quality
- Data Rate: Restrict to 2000 kbits/sec
- Optimized for Streaming

Now the settings from ImTOO (for the same raw file):

- Target: General Video > H.264/MPEG-4
- Video Quality: Highest
- In advanced Profile Settings, change the following:
-- Bit Rate: 2000

The end result, that the QT file is 6.28M and better quality than the 8.77M file obtained from ImTOO.

Some parameters, such as the "Keyframe every X frames", effects the output quality, but this parameter can only be found in QT. I don't find similar parameter in ImTOO.

This is why I was wondering if a more detailed description of the advanced parameters are available in ImTOO so that I could get an output quality similar to what I can get using QT.

But if anyone has any ideas or input, I'd appreaciate that, too.

Thanks!

PS: Selecting "Same Quality" and 2-pass in ImTOO still makes the resulting file worse quality compared to its QT counterpart.
