Changing the text color of file? What does that mean? That the filename shown in Explorer is shown using a blue-colored font? You do know Windows XP can compress files, right? The default color for compressed files in Explorer is blue. So do you have the disk cleanup wizard configured to run every so often? Maybe it is compressing old folders that haven't been updated in awhile. |

Maybe the reason for the color change? Is there a way where I can revert the color back to black? This color change happen in many files but not all; say 50% of the files names are in black while the other half are in blue color. TIA |

If they are compressed files, uncompress them. If they are compressed folders then extract their contents. Blue is used for compressed files. Black is for uncompressed files. For help, use Start -> Help and Support. Search on "compressed". I had asked if the disk cleanup wizard was executed because one of its functions, if selected, is to compress old files. |
