AVG 8 crashing Vista
Vista Home Premium.
Lots of problems. Does not like Winamp (5531) on the same machine. Sometimes Winamp kicks out AVG, sometimes AVG crashes everything while Winamp is running. MSoft reported AVG problem and advised me to get the latest version, which I have. Sometimes I get a problem (without Winamp) when startup is very very slow, leading to a desktop which is essentially crashed, or stalling where I think I have the logon screen but the monitor is blank. In this last problem I switch off for a few minutes then restart normally, and problem does not recur within a day or so. Anyone know if this has a virus or malware link? |

After removing the hard drive and scanning the drive with another computer and then reinstalling AVG on the original drive etc, the problems go away. I have installed AVG 8 on 20+ PC's Clark... -- Don't you have Google in your part of the world? |

An anti spyware? Spybot S&D I uninstalled it and reinstalled but unselected all the options, and it seems my Winamp is happy and AVG happy so far.. Thanks. Billy. |
