Agree, the default time interal is 30 s which is too long for me,and I prefer to change it under windows 7.

Why not? You have two options:

1. Wipe out the XP installation and install Windows 7 there.

2. Free up a drive like D:\ and install Windows 7 there. This will help you to keep XP and use Windows 7 for a trial. I choose this option.

Re: Windows 7 Installation Guide / Tutorial

Lets say that I got the windows 7 .iso off the internet, I want to install it and then crack it after I install it
But how can I do that if it requires me to enter a serial key?

Re: Windows 7 Installation Guide / Tutorial

This need of serial keys applied to other Windows versions also.

Usually Microsoft uses a two-way protection (need of serial key before install and need of OS activation after install).

You will have to search on google in order to obtain such a key.

Re: Windows 7 Installation Guide / Tutorial

Please tell us the exact error that shows up on your screen.

Does this problem occur after installation is finished and you try to boot into Windows or before the OS finishes install ?

Windows 98 / Windows ME

Re: Windows 7 Installation Guide / Tutorial

Hi,

I just purchased a HP Laptop, and even though I am pretty much a computer newbie, I brought her home figuring I could do the recovery disc and configuration thing myself with the help of the internet.
The fellowat the store told me to do the recovery disc thing, and just google how to configure it for Windows 7.
So I come home turn it on and thought I was going step by step, burn three recovery discs, and now I'm trying to configure it.
My google search led me here, and this page, but looking at the step by step pictures, it seems I may have made a mistake, and now I'm not sure how to configure my new Laptop.
When I got to "What type of Installation do you want?" I chose "Upgrade"
figuring it would always give me upgrades. But by not choosing "Custom (advanced)" as your tutorial suggests the next step "Where do you want to install Windows?" did not come up, and so I'm assuming it's not installed.
Instead I burned the recovery discs, but I'm not installed.

HELP.

What can I do now?
