Agree,the default time interal is 30 s which is too long for me,and I prefer to change it under windows 7.

i have xp on my brand new HP 6730s. can i be sure to download and install win 7 x86 version (2,1 GB) on it?

Why not? You have two options:

1. Wipe out the XP installation and install Windows 7 there.

2. Free up a drive like D:\ and install Windows 7 there. This will help you to keep XP and use Windows 7 for a trial. I choose this option.
