Sorry if I'm asking something that's been answered recently...

If I wanted to test-drive Windows-7 (beta, right?), can I get it somewhere?
Or is it still 'private'?

[My context is that I do NOT 'respect' Vista. I DO respect Win-XP. So,
if M$ wants to win back folks like me, then they ought to be making it available
in beta-form...so that it 'expires' would be fine.
But, I'm certainly NOT ever gonna pay for it, sight unseen.]

EDIT: I currently have just one 'Vista'...on a newish laptop, that mostly
dual-boots over to a couple of Linux distros. What I'd REALLY LIKE is
the ability (for free) to REPLACE my Vista with a (non-expiring) copy
of Windows-7, in any form. I'd do that, sight-unseen!

Does M$ 'get it' yet?

You may get Windows 7 Public Beta from here. Trust me, you will like it. It's lot like vista, but fast and with less warning messages!

Hey.. it's true..

Windows 7 is far better than windows Vista..

Even I am planning to replace my Vista with Windows 7..

I'm having a problem with item 17 (Default Location), as documented here.

In the (Lenovo Laptop) copy of Windows-7 Home Premium (64-bit), when
I go into Control Panel, there is NO SUCH ENTRY as 'Default Location'.

When I poke around looking for similar stuff in Control Panel, I do see something
about 'Locators and Sensors', but that says '...there aren't any installed' and
recommends that I go find some (vendor-specific/Lenovo-I guess?) website
to try to get some!?

What's up with that????
