Question Something happened and this app couldn't be installed. Please try again - Canít install or update Me

Canít install or update Metro Apps

Error

"Something happened and this app couldn't be installed. Please try again".

Details
When the user try to install or update an app I got an error "Something happened and this app couldn't be installed. Please try again". This error might display for any application. If the user look to the event viewer there will be a lot of errors with:

A fatal alert was generated and sent to the remote endpoint. This may result in termination of the connection. The TLS protocol defined fatal error code is 70. The Windows SChannel error state is 105.

Causes
  • Date and time settings.
  • Proxy settings.
  • VPN settings.
Solutions

Solution 1
If you are in a corporate or domain environment you have to check your proxy settings to see if autoproxy is not enabled? Check your proxy bypass settings and see if this makes a difference.
If you follow the steps to change proxy server settings and still find that the address you type for a new proxy server is not remembered, here are some things to check:
If you are entering a Uniform Resource Locator (URL) or Internet address for the proxy server, be sure you are using slashes (/) rather than backslashes (\) when typing the address. For example, the correct way is to type http://servername, not http:\\server name.
If you are entering a universal naming convention (UNC) or local network address for the proxy server, be sure you are using backslashes (\) rather than slashes (/). For example, the correct way is to type \\servername, not //server name.
Also, Make sure that you are signed into your Live account to be able to download new apps.

Solution 2

Check the date and time settings:

After fixing it, you will be able to install/update apps.

Solution 3

If you establish a VPN connection, the problem no longer persists. If you are able to set up a VPN server or connect to one, it is recommended to try that.
