Windows 8 Now Counts 5% of Worldwide PCs

Windows 8 was launched last year in the final quarter of the year.

The Operating System has now crossed it's own brother (or should we say sister) Windows Vista operating system.Windows 8 now counts for 5.1% of worldwide PCs.
So Windows 8 has now joined the Top 3 of Operating System Market Share with Windows 7 topping the charts with 44.37 % while the Second one Windows XP Stands at 37.17%.

Still a long way to go for Windows 8 to surpass Windows XP market share, but the operating system is growing slowly but steadily.

And I was pretty sure that Windows XP was still dominating the top. Oh well, after all that time, it was about time for 7 to surpass it.

Re: Windows 8 Now Counts 5% of Worldwide PCs

XP machines are dropping offline, as there is no longer any support for them. Business are also finally getting their stuff together and making their proprietary applications for win 7/8 rather than XP, though plenty of businesses still need XP for certain software.

Re: Windows 8 Now Counts 5% of Worldwide PCs

I prefer windows XP because i want to play classic 32 bit games, though i guess i could use a VM. win XP will be unsupported soon (microsoft will purge the massive amount of software on their site for it) so i guess its time to move on, my comp was 64 bit compatible for over a year now i just never felt like getting win 7. (vista and 8 are just out of the question)
