Uninstalling Windows 8.1

Hi everyone!
Guys i previously had windows 7 on my laptop. It worked well.I installed windows 8.1 parralel to it in another drive on hard disc.Worked good.
Now i want to remove 8.1 and want to have windows 7 only.
So what is the good way to uninstall windows 8.1 safely ?
I mean beside just formatting 8.1 drive is there some other more better method ?
Thanks.

Re: Uninstalling Windows 8.1

The best option:

1. Back up data from the Window7 drive.

2. Boot in using the Windows 7 Disc and do a reinstall.

3. Login to your new Windows 7 install and format the Windows 8 partition.

Alternatively:

1. From Windows 7, back up data from the Window 8 drive.

2. Using Disk Management set the Windows 7 partition as Active.

3. Using Disk Management format the Windows 8 partition.

4 Boot in using the Windows 7 Disc and do an auto repair.

Re: Uninstalling Windows 8.1

OK, question:
Was Windows 7 installed first, then Windows 8 added, on another drive, later? That being the case, the OP need only remove the Windows 8 drive, after setting the boot priority to Windows 7 default. Correct the boot menu issue by running the Windows 7 install media, go to repair console, and type fixmbr .
The entire contents of the Windows 8 disk will be available until the drive is reformatted.

Re: Uninstalling Windows 8.1

Thank you Strider and Davnel. Yes, because windows was installed first so Davnel's method worked well and very easy for me.
Thankyou Davnel.
