dos commands are not running

hi friends,

i have a problems while running dos commonds, most of them even help, are not recognized as external or internal commonds.i dont know any setting is to be done or anything else??please help me out anyway

set path
and see whether the path C:\Windows\System32 (assuming Windows is installed in the C drive) is present in the output.

Also see if typing the extension also, runs the file, like : copy.exe instead of only copy.

It might be a virus infection, which antivirus do you use, and have you run a full system scan ?

oh!!
path commond showing c\programe files\java.....\bin which i had set for my requrement using my computer->properties->advance->env variables->path.
but when i will set the path again to point to system32 directory then will it not afftect my current path setting for java??

you need to append it and not modify the entire path. Add a semicolon at the end and then paste the path to C:\Windows\system32 and C:\Windows

final path variable should look something like this :

C:\Windows\System32;C:\Windows;"C:\Program Files\Java\....\bin";
