Reformatted. How do I combine all Documents and Settings Folders?

Hello, new to the site here..but seeking some help, so hopefully someone out there can be of assistance!

I reformatted my computer and everytime I do so, I have a new documents and settings folder. My files on my comp are divided between the three folders, so I'd like to combine them. How can I do so? I assume I can't drag 2 of the files into one of them, but would it work if I take the same components of all 3 and put them in the most recent folder? (i.e open the folder "My Pictures," and move those files to the "My Pictures" folder of the most recent Documents and Settings Folder?)

Would reatly appreciate some help.

Best
Neil

I guess you want to move the files under My Documents ? What you need to do is take all the files and keep it inside a single folder in a separate partition (preferable, this way you don't need to backup every time you format and re-install the os) and then point My Documents's location to that folder.

How to Change the Default Location of the My Documents Folder

Otherwise you need to use TweakUI and move the individual folders.

Another method would be to create a new XP cd using NLite and change the location of Documents and Settings folder.
