My system is not starting - motherboard issue ?

Hi,

My system went blank when i am surfing and after that i tried to start it but it will not. I opened the CPU and found the SMPS was working fine and the LED in the motherboard was glowing. I tried the power cables whether it was fixed alright and found no issues. Also I removed the RAM and just put it in again and nothing happened. My system is not starting. Do I need to check anything else before calling the service engineer. My system is P4 2.8 ghz, 1GB RAM. Any help is much appreciated

Re: motherboard issue

Do you get any beeps from the motherboard when you start the system ? if you have any spare parts for ram/mobo/cpu you can put them in one by one and see if the system boots up.

Coulld be the RAM, but also check the video card if it is not a on-board one. If you have a spare video card give that a try.
