Win Vista
New Optical Notebook Wireless Mouse First it asks for drivers... there aren't any... BUT more interesting, I get encountered an error... USB Browser Mouse Driver installation file missing neccessary entry... May be because the INF was written for Win 95 or later. Ok, I had a retractable Gigaware mouse, LOVED the small size but last night it was on and off working (yeah it's a few years old)... Today I bought 2 different mice, same info as above... Thought it was because 1 mouse came from "Office Max"... took it back and went and got another Gigaware mouse.. this time an Optical Notebook one... Back to the store for 2 hours while they tried with my computer and EVERY mouse (with cord or NOT) to make any work... NONE EXCEPT my "Going on the fritz" retractable one! WHAT?? ok so other than downing a bottle of scotch, buying a new COMPUTER, oh Please someone HELP so I don't have to use this messed up Touch Pad no mo!!!! ;-) Kindly Mrs. Boots |

WELL anyone getting a new Wireless Optical mouse should be HAPPY!
Gigaware support number was SO helpful, this was the solution - NO drivers needed for Gigaware - all the drivers ARE in your Vista computer -- but duh they don't find each other LMAO go figure Microsoft letting another wireless mouse actually connect? Anyway, Start, Control Panel, Device Manager Have your new wireless optical mouse plugged in - click Cancel when it asks for drivers... LOOK for the Device Found - UNKNOWN probably NOT in the mouse section of Device manager... Right click on it and say Install Driver (this is where you now Choose where to LOOK on your computer for them).... Select YOU pick from the list to install... You will see HDI compliant, maybe some others like USB compliant... I chose HDI complaint and didn't even have to reboot... Went out of the control panel and my new mouse NOW showed up under mice -- WOOT! cheers to gigaware Support! Mrs. Boots ![]() |
