Imaging Windows 98

hi all, long time listener, first time caller

i have to reinstall windows 98 on (literally) about 100 computers and fast.
anyhoo, i've been scouring the internets for information about imaging 98 but to no avail.
what i have tried is making an imagex image and applying it to another computer, but lo and behold, it won't boot. i tried fdisk /mbr with no results.
the error message i get is something like
"remove disks or other media"
"press any key to restart"

any other ideas from the masters?

Re: Imaging Windows 98

update:
so i've been successful in imaging 98 but it involves me using fdisk and the format utility on the windows 98 boot disk. this is still rather time-consuming, so if anyone has any better ideas, let me know.

Re: Imaging Windows 98

i suppose if anyone is interested, here's what i had to do:
  1. boot to windows 98 cd
  2. fdisk
  3. delete partition, create active primary partition
  4. restart, boot to 98 cd
  5. format c: (can't quick format a raw volume)
  6. restart, boot to WinPE 2005 (systems didn't have enough ram for newer versions)
  7. deploy .wim as per normal with imagex
  8. restart
takes about 40 minutes total per computer but it's a lot faster and easier than installing each from scratch, installing drivers, and customizing
