nv4_disp BSOD - Nvidia Geforce device driver got stuck in an infinite loop

Hi all,

Everytime When I install the driver of a GeForce 8400 GS on a Windows XP, I get a BSOD.

It displays device driver got stuck in an infinite loop. The file may be nv4_disp. This may be caused by the device or the device driver programming.

What can be done in this case?

Thanks

Re: nv4_disp BSOD

Restart the machine in Last known Good configuration by Pressing F8 in the startup
Else, Select the option Enable VGA Mode and start the machine

If Both are not working, start in Safe Mode.

Goto My Computer Right click Properties, Hardware > Device Manager and uninstall the driver which is installed

Hi,

you can always try to install modded drivers. Download from OmegaDrivers.net - Home of the ATI & NVIDIA Omega Drivers. Home

Re: nv4_disp BSOD

It might be compatibility issue, If you have downloaded the right driver..
If you have not downloaded the right driver then download Uniblue driver scanner from MajorGeeks.Com - Contacting Download Site , serial is easy available on google
