Unable to log on as build-in administrator
I would really appreciate some help please.
The forum is very helpful and I have picked up some answers already from searching threads but not quite to answer my problem. Vista - My daughter has recently added a password to her user account (full admin rights), she is the only user account. Now gone away to Uni, I can not access the pc. I want to create another user account so the pc can be used. I have ascertained the build-in administrator a/c is disabled. (it doesn't appear on the log on screen when I've started up in Safe Mode, only her icon appears). Also have read that on Dell Vista initial start up on new pc's they set it to build-in administrator to default and disabled. How can I enable the build-in administrator, to then create a new user account? I can't even get to a screen with the START menu in bottom left corner. (I am used to XP on my pc). I have tried Ophcrack to reveal a password but results showed:- Administrator pw empty Guest pw empty Stephi pw NOT FOUND Or does anyone have any other suggestions? I may sound like I know what I'm talking about but I'm not very computer savvy so please treat me like I'm an idiot. I don't know any in line command. Thanks in advance ![]() |
