NO OPERATING SYSTEM, NTLDR is MISSING??

Hello,

Well i was formatting my computer power went out (because someone tripped over the plug) then i turn it on and it says "NTLDR is missing" but let me remind you it was in the blue screen process where it was only copying files over....so in other words there isn't any operating system on here.

i have tried "ULTIMATEBOOTCD", and "ntldrismissing.com", and no luck? does anyone know what to do?

please help me out please!!!!!!

Since your in the processes of formatting and that there is no OS installed, then just simply re-install the OS...

Better yet, format the HDD and continue to install a fresh OS...

Are you reinstalling Windows using the CD?

Re: NO OPERATING SYSTEM, NTLDR is MISSING??

As far as I understand this you were booting from a Windows install CD, initiated a drive format and wanted to reinstall the OS.

But during installation (file copy procedure) occured a computer crash.

So, your best solution would be just like bloodwynd said: restart your PC by booting from CD and start a new installation. This is the best and safest solution.

Like others have suggested, start over. You may have to use a disk partitioning S/W to remove and create the partition again. If you know the manufacturer of the HD, and can use there utility to create partitions, use that. If not, use a 3rd party partitioning S/W. I would not recommend using what is available with the OS you are installing.

Re: NO OPERATING SYSTEM, NTLDR is MISSING??

Just restarted the system by disconnecting the Hard Disk and RAM from motherboard. Restarted the system 3 times or more without connecting the SATA cable. Shutdown once, pause for a moment. Later switch on by connecting the Hard Disk and boot with the windows XP SP - 2. It will work for surely.

It happens because while formatting or installing from XP-CD, 'MBR' table gives the signal that Hard Disk is in use. So you won't be able to do anything (Read and write in a HD).

Just let me know the issue resolved.

Re: NO OPERATING SYSTEM, NTLDR is MISSING??

Hello, yeah i tried to fresh re-install already but it was the cd-drive problem for not reading the disc thats why i couldnt do a fresh format but now i can..but another issue has risen...is that its in the process of installing and the computer completely shutsdown? any clue?

they said maybe the cpu is overheating...or something...but im in the bios for 20 mins or so but nothing? its only when i get to the install screen of windows xp and it says i have 30mins left....and its shutsdown.

Re: NO OPERATING SYSTEM, NTLDR is MISSING??

Can you try using a different installation CD ?

What are your CPU and system temperatures from within the BIOS ?

If you open up the case of your PC, can you see if dust is accumulated on cooler or video card ?

Re: NO OPERATING SYSTEM, NTLDR is MISSING??

In BIOS there is a setting to shut down PC when reaching a certain temperature. Is it enabled on your system ? If yes, at what value is it set to take action ?
