xp capture - best method ?

Hello.
I am using BDD 2007 without problems for deployment of my XP images.
These XP images has, until now, be captured (as .wim) with the following
steps :
1: Install a base xp from wds
2: Install applications & configure the pc
3: Create c:\sysprep folder & fill it the sysprep files
4: Run => sysprep -bmsd
& sysprep -reseal -mini
after that the pc has been shutdowned
5: Boot under WinPE
6: and, MANUALLY =>
. use imagex to create the .wim image (on C: drive)
. copy images to WDS server
7: Create, in WDS, a new Operating System the captured image
8: Create, in WDS, a new Build the new Operating System
and the new image is ready to be deployed via LiteTouch.

The steps 5 and 6 are manual.

Questions :
1. does a simpler path, from step 4 to 8, exists using BDD 2007
LiteTouch ?
2. if response yes from 1, than can you give me the steps ?

Thank you

NOTE :
..if I use LiteTouch as is, it first deploy an image and then ONLY capture !
. I would like that LiteTouch CAPTURES ONLY the current pc, without
beginning with a deployment.

Re: xp capture - best method ?

Yes..

2. Automate the application install through the BDD workbench as well as
the PC customizations
3-6. Capture the image by using the BDD capture process. If you choose
workgroup in the BDD wizard you will have the option of capturing the image
to a network location which will automate steps 3-6
7. Add the WIM to the BDD workbench under Operating Systems. Update
(files) on your deployment point
8 is not needed.

Re: xp capture - best method ?

Thank you.
I already work as you describe, except concerning the capture of XP images.
My last problem is, as I noted at the end of my first post :

. if I use LiteTouch as is, it first deploy an image and then ONLY capture
!
. I would like that LiteTouch CAPTURES ONLY the current pc, without
beginning with a deployment.

Re: xp capture - best method ?

Unfortunately that is not an option for Lite Touch today. We will have more
flexibility with the task sequencer in future versions of BDD so that could
be possible but no guarantees.
