Getting Available Updates for MDT (OS Packages) "Vista, XP etc.."

All,
Hopefully someone here could help. I'm trying to figure out, the best
approach to downloading all available updates for the OS Packages component
of MDT 2008. From looking at the web I understand there's several methods to
doing this.

1. I could use the Windows Update Downloader but I'm
unable to use this type of solution in an enterprise. (all that legal stuff)

2. I could use the method outlined here but this seems very time consuming

3. I could maybe use WSUS to download all available updates then point MDT
to the WSUS content directory. After early testing, it seems MDT wants CAB
or MSU files and the WSUS cab files contain MSP files.

I'm really open to any suggestions
The overall goal is to be able to download all availble updates and point
MDT to this directory.

Thanks in advanced

Why dont you use WSUS, set the WSUSServer property in CustomSettings.ini and
have the TS run ZTIWindowsUpdate.wsf. That will have the TS connect to WSUS
and install the necessary updates.
