I noticed that there are these huge .FRX files within the following directory.

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Messenger\email@hotmail.com\SharingMetadata\email@msn.com\DFSR\Staging\

All in all they amount of 2 gigs. Is it safe to delete them>

Greetings,

You can, but it's not recommended to do it that way. Instead, open up a Messenger window,
press Alt on the keyboard to open the menubar, choose the Tools menu, then Options and then
the Sharing Folders category.

Then click the Sharing Folder of the specific user you want to remove (or remove all of them)
under the Sharing Folders list. Then choose <<Remove. Finally choose OK to confirm it.

I had exactly the same problem. It happened when I try to send one large file to specific user. Later I erase that file in My Sharing Folders but I noticed that .frx in TC (C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Messenger\email@hotmail.com\Sharing Metadata\email@msn.com\DFSR\Staging\), that was the same size as the erased file.

Why does it happens?
Is that mean that it is the best way to share file with someone through Actions/Send a single file, then through My Sharing Folders?

Thanks Jonathan for explanation.
