Can't burn cd's

I have a HP DVD 1040E and each time that I try to burn CD's I keep getting
error messages that there is no disk in the drive and it will not burn the
CD. When I have tried to save other files to the disc it tells me that I
don't have access to the folder F:/: See your administrator for access to
this folder. This is my personal computer and it should not have an
administrator. Please help.

Sounds like the same prob I had. It took me a long time to find help.

I used this file:
XP_CD-DVD-Fix.exe - Restore CD/DVD Drives to Explorer

From Doug Knox's site:
