how to take a 'snapshot' of this?

Here's the url:

It's a cam of the inside of a plastic gourd and it's also an active nestbox
of Purple Martins w/ 4 hatchlings being fed intermittently by their parent
Purple Martins. However, I cannot seem to take a "photo shot" of this at
all. Even "print screen" doesn't work!

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards.

WinXP Home SP2, IE6

Re: how to take a 'snapshot' of this?

Printscreen works for me: it copies the screen to the clipboard. I can then
paste it into any photoediting app and crop to select just the camcorder
image. I'm using
XP SP3.

Further to previous, you can get a better picture if you open the video in
WMP (I use v 11): click File, Open URL, type in

mms://www.gazebophil.com/birds1

Click OK. Then set WMP to show frull screen, press Printscreen key to copy
to clipboard, Paste into your photo editing software, etc.

I got the URL from 'view source' of the page you referenced.

Re: how to take a 'snapshot' of this?

Thank you for your suggestions, Jean Rosenfeld. And, yes, I did enter your
suggested url into WMP version 11. It came through beautifully. However,
full screen or smaller screen, when I press Printscreen I have no picture on
my clipboard. What does show up on clipboard is the WMP version 11 program
but there's no picture of anything on its "monitor" . . . this blank WMP
screen on clipboard seems to have occurred after I downloaded MSFT's latest
version of WMP, version 11. It never happened on prior versions of WMP.
Anyone else mention this problem? It could be that something regarding
copyright has gone astray in this WMP version 11 because this url (about the
bird nest) has no copyright material on its video.

Anything further you can suggest?

Regards.

To capture screenshots you need to turn video acceleration off:

Options > Performance > Video acceleration

Even then it may not work reliably.

Re: how to take a 'snapshot' of this?

Well, I'll be darned. It worked!! Indeed. I can take photos. Now, I am
one happy camper thanks to Opinicus! Hopefully, this adjustment won't have
negative effects. I slide the "slider" all the way over to "none."

Regards.

Re: how to take a 'snapshot' of this?

Well it works for me with Video acceleration on. Maybe it depends on your
graphics card?
WMP 11 version I have is 11.0.5721.5230 on XP SP3. nVidia 8800GT 512MB card.

The graphics card is a big (probably the biggest) contributor to success in
this. With mine for example I can't reliably capture screenshots in WiMP
even with acceleration turned off.
