Cannot play videos in slow motion

I am playing a local .AVI file on WMP 11.

I cannot get slow-motion to work. Single frame advance works fine. Going
back a frame does not work. And speed settings do not work. There is a
line for the speed-setting slider, but no slider to grab with the mouse.

I have tried this on several computers, including a Vista-32 and an XP.

Any suggestions?

RE: Cannot play videos in slow motion

Here is one that is really simple to use. You can use it to play your videos
in slow motion.
http://www.yessoft.com/software/spor...eoplayer-2.zip

You can review frames (by using left and right arrow keys) and advance and
forward at a frame level. Very useful.

Thanks, Byte.

I'll give it a try.

Re: Cannot play videos in slow motion

There is an intesting comment on the Sports Video Player download page.
It says "frame-by-frame review may require reduced Video card Hardware
Acceleration."

Tweaking video accelleration options could possibly affect other video
players as well.

Re: Cannot play videos in slow motion

Thanks for the comeback. The comment is very true, but it depends
a lot on the format of the video and if it is supported. I use one created
by the Disney Studios and is very elaborate and expensive.
Happy putering :~)

Re: Cannot play videos in slow motion

Hi David,
you wrote:

1)
If your can do that with your graphic card it is nothing to be afraid of.
You may do whatever you want with Sports Player and then tweak it back asit
was before.
2) are you talking about "slow motion" playback or just frame by frame?
Anyway you can do both with VirtualDub (free)
It can do "virtually" :-) anything with any clip.
Exceptions are MS formats but those can be converted first.
There are set of filter commin with it. There are tones of additional
Plugins developed for it. I did see "Slow motion" too. Or if you use
AviSynth with it
is just a few commands in text file.
I used VirtualDub it quite intensively and never needed to tweak hardware
acceleration.
There is some learning curve involved but ... hey!
VirtualDub:

AviSynth:

Best regards
