Motorola Q Will not connect
I have been using the Motorola Q for some time now and have never had an
issue with it. All of a sudden in the past few days it is no longer connecting to my PC. When I plug in the USB cord I hear a beep on the phone and that is it. Active Sync 4.5 is not seeing it at all. I have tried deleting the partnership and recreating it, but since it does not see it I can't re-create it. I have been running Windows Defender for over a year and also Symantec Corporate Anti-Virus for several years and never had an issue with them. I have uninstalled Symantec to see if that causes an issue and it doesn't. I have tried going back to a restore point when I knew the device was working and that still has not resolved anything. My USB ports are working because I have tested them with other devices. I have tried taking my Q to another PC and it gives me the Add New Hardware balloon down by the clock. Since the other PC does recognize it I would say there is nothing wrong with the phone. When viewing Device Manager when the phone is being connected I don't see anything being added to the USB section so that is telling me that the computer is not seeing it. I have tried to connect via Blue Tooth and Active Sync does make an attempt to connect up but for some reason it never goes through either. I am not running any firewall. We have a corporate Group Policy that disables the Windows Firewall. I am not sure what else to try at this point. I don't know if a Windows Update has messed this up or what. Hopefully someone else can shed some light on this. Thanks! |
