Cannot synch with the Outlook profile you are using!

My Outlook 2007 experienced a meltdown with my .pst and .ost files and we had
to let Outlook rebuild with new files.

My mail is mostly intact but my contacts/calander etc is gone. My Blackjack
has all this information but when trying to synch back to Outlook it says:

"Cannot synchronize with the Outlook profile you are using because a
different profile was previously set up or the profile is password-protected,
please open Outlook using the appropriate profile"

Using - %userprofile%\Application Data\Microsoft\ActiveSync I can see my
profile that Activesync v4.2 used but how does this correlate to starting
Outlook 2007 with different profiles or accounts ?

Can I delete the Mobile Device in ActiveSync and create a new Mobile Device
relationship that will pull my data from the BlackJack back into Outlook ?

any help out there ?

thanks!

Hi,
ActiveSync syncs only with the default Outlook profile. Did you change
Outlook to use the new profile as the default instead of the old one?

Re: Cannot synch with the Outlook profile you are using!

Hi Chris;

I have a default profile and a profile with my name on it, Outlook can start
either way but for now it is using my name. The problem is observed when
running either way and perhaps there used to be another profile before my IT
department hosed things up :-)

Question is now;

How do I retrieve my Calandar and Contacts from my BlackJack back into a
blank Outlook ?

If I delete the device defined in Activesync v4.2 will it overwrite the
BlackJack when adding the device back in ?

thanks!

Re: Cannot synch with the Outlook profile you are using!

Hi,
To import the contacts and calendar from the BlackJack choose the option to
MERGE the data and it will sync from Outlook the data to the BlackJack which
will be empty and vice versa which will put all your data on the PC.

Possible your connect isn't good or your software was damaged,i had that situation and me soviet use this application-microsoft outlook 2003 ost viewer,i don't remember will be solve problem with Windows Mobile,but will try i think you try,

also this utility able moving ost files without damage-exactly,like is freeware,allows to recover *.ost files, when Microsoft Exchange Server gets out of order and your data may be lost,can open damaged files, you can open your corrupted *.ost file and estimate data losses,can convert *.ost files to *.pst files, that can be easily opened by any email client, compatible with Microsoft Outlook,convert your *.ost to *.pst, but to extract a list of files in such formats, as: *.eml. *.vcf and *.txt,allows to view a ost file and avoid extracting, for example, 50 Mb of your content, you can extract all files from .ost viewer mail, than just to copy and paste emails and contacts, that you need,also runs under Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows 2003, Windows XP and Windows Vista.
