Viewing/Editing Contacts in WM 6 Without Using Outlook
For various reasons I won't get into here, I would like to view and edit
contacts on my HTC Mogul from my laptop without syncing to Outlook. Is there a way to do this? Thanks in advance: Colby Seider Advertisement |

For reasons I won't get into here, MS doesn't support syncing/editing contacts with anything except Outlook! ;-) As an alternative, you could setup a free Exchange account at www.mail2web.com, that will sync your contacts (and calendar) with mail2web's servers. Then you can access them in your laptop's browser using Outlook Web Access (essentially a browser-based version of Outlook that doesn't install on your PC. This will allow editing them on the PC, but they'll be stored only on your PPC and mail2web's server. As a bonus, this gives you a built-in "cloud" backup of your data- should you need to hard reset (erase) the Mogul (i.e. to update it's firmware), you simply need to reenter the Exchange settings and your contacts and calendar will download to the Mogul. This also allows accessing them from any internet-connected PC anywhere, if needed, not just your laptop. |
