Processor Queue Length
I'm evaluating some monitoring software. One component is monitoring my W2k3
Active Directory servers - 2 of them. One server is constantly exceeding the OS Processor Queue Length. The values range from 6 to 23 with an average of 13.2. I'm kinda lost on this one - probably due to too little AD experience. The only information I've seen on this is related to MOM, which I don't have, but nothing is telling me what can cause this, how important this alert is, nor what to do to resolve it. Any assistance is appreciated. Thanks |

Re: Processor Queue Length
Hi BigSam,
Not sure what this has to do with AD. A sustained processor queue length > 2 might indicate a bottle neck with your processor. Get a faster one. Re: Processor Queue Length
It has a dual core 3.0 GHz processor & 1 GB memory. I had thought of
increasing the memory, but don't know if that will be effective. The drives are mirrored SATA with 7200 RPM. What is the OS Processor Queue Length? The # of Operating System items in the queue waiting to be processed? How important is it to reduce this alert? Are the only solutions hardware related? Thanks Big Sam "Austin Osuide" wrote: > Hi BigSam, > Not sure what this has to do with AD. > A sustained processor queue length > 2 might indicate a bottle neck with > your processor.
