Extending schema to R2 release???

I have two DC's running 2003 server. Forest level is 2000 and domain level
is 2003. I have another server for a branch office which is a x64 2003 R2.
When I try and run the adprep /forestprep from the R2 (2nd disk) on the
schema master I get the following message:

The image file D:\ is valid, but is for a machine type other than the
current machine.

I understand that Im trying to run the R2 adprep on the schema master of a
non R2 server, but I need to extend the scheme with these attributes so the
new DC (R2) will be able to replicate properly with the other DC's.

What do I need to do so I can run the R2 adprep tool on the 2003 DC (non R2)?

Thats the problem. Your schema master is 32bit? If so, you can download the
R2 Trial 32bit to use the adprep from the trial.

Re: Extending schema to R2 release???

The ISO images? Do I only need to download the second image to get the
adprep tool or do I need both ISO files? Also, I noticed the two DC are
enterprise editions and the new server I want to promote is a standard
edition. Will that cause a problem running the adprep tool?

You need just the second one.

No it does not matter which version you use.
