Extending schema to R2 release???
I have two DC's running 2003 server. Forest level is 2000 and domain level
is 2003. I have another server for a branch office which is a x64 2003 R2. When I try and run the adprep /forestprep from the R2 (2nd disk) on the schema master I get the following message: The image file D:\ is valid, but is for a machine type other than the current machine. I understand that Im trying to run the R2 adprep on the schema master of a non R2 server, but I need to extend the scheme with these attributes so the new DC (R2) will be able to replicate properly with the other DC's. What do I need to do so I can run the R2 adprep tool on the 2003 DC (non R2)? |

If so, you can download the R2 Trial 32bit to use the adprep from the trial. Bye Norbert |

Re: Extending schema to R2 release???
The ISO images? Do I only need to download the second image to get the
adprep tool or do I need both ISO files? Also, I noticed the two DC are enterprise editions and the new server I want to promote is a standard edition. Will that cause a problem running the adprep tool? "Norbert Fehlauer [MVP]" wrote: > WetBehindEars wrote: > > I have two DC's running 2003 server. Forest level is 2000 and domain > > level is 2003.
