Hi,

I am currently working as an interpreter for an NGO that is working on
extra curriculum activities for May 15 School in Ho Chi Minh City
(Saigon, Vietnam), a school that provides street children and
disadvantaged children with education and a shelter.

The volunteers have a small network with around 5 computers in the
room and another computer room for the children to study. Someone
helped set up the network but now he's gone and everything is left to
their own devices.

I want to study about administering the network so that I can help out
when trouble arises. Do you have any suggestion as to which book I
should have a look at or what I can do in this summer vacation when
most of the time I will work with these volunteers [note that I have
no time and money ^ ^ to take official training course].

I have average knowledge of computer usage but no network
administration experience.

The network has a server running Windows Server 2003 64x Standard
Edition with Active Server, one router (D-linl), a Linkpro switch and
several other computers.

Is there any need to study about basic networking? Any recommendations
are highly appreciated!
