Adding a secondary domain controller

Hi there,

I would like to add a secondary domain controller to our active directory
setup.

The primary server is Windows 2003 Small Business Edition
The secondary server is Windows 2003 Standard Edition R2

When I try to run dcpromo on the new server it tells me I need to upgrade
the schema.

Is there anyway for R2 and non-R2 servers to co-exist?

thanks,
-Drew

I suggest you post in m.p.windows.server.sbs for more specific help - SBS
does a lot of things its own way.

R2 requires you to run adprep from the second CD of the R2 set to prepare
the domain for the new R2 features. Have you done that?

Me? No, but then again, I'm not the one trying to add this server. ;-)
