Shutdown info and windows update info

is there a way to easily pull this info from a group of servers?

I would imagine there is some application out there that will do this for
me?

I would just like to be able to track how often the server is shutdown.. how
long it is down.. and if the shutdown was for auto updates (I haven't looked
but I assume when you hit the restart button from a windows update it logs
this info for you)

we are also looking in to a central monitoring system (system center,
altiris) but from the research ive done so far I don't see these kind of
reports.
