Not sure if this is going to be useful for anyone, but I was having the same 0xC1050702 error message when I tried to start WDSSERVER. I fooled around with this quite a bit and noticed that there were some files set to Read_Only in my remoteinstall directory. I set my focus on the entire remoteinstall directory, clicked Properties, clicked Read_Only to SET every file and folder to Read_Only, then did the operation again to REMOVE Read_Only from every file and folder and now it starts without error.
Hope this helps someone out should they be having this issue. |

Re: WDS Legacy Not Working after SP2
ok.. what I have learned, and perhaps this might be a simple fix.
We were using a Local administrative account when bringing up the WDS MMC . You need to use a domain account that has local admin priviliges to do this. Didn't seem like it needs to be a domain admin, just an account on the domain, that is a local administrator to the WDS server. |
